Dress code: business casual
Op kantoor in Amsterdam kennen we het fenomeen “Casual Friday”, wat zoiets betekent als ” geen pak – maar ook geen trainingsbroek” . In de praktijk draag ik van maandag tot en met vrijdag een pak, meestal zonder das en op vrijdag een (spijker)broek, overhemd en/of trui en nette schoenen of gympen.
Bij Schulte is de dress code: business casual. OK, business casual, wat is dat? Op kantoor in Amsterdam draag ik een spijkerbroek en gympen. Kan dat hier ook? Nee:
Clothing that is not appropriate business casual, and that therefore is not acceptable clothing for the office, includes golf or “polo” shirts, except during the summer, any denim wear (including jeans, and denim blouses, shirts or skirts)…
Wat dan wel?
To that end, please keep in mind that business casual means that men need not wear jackets and ties and women need not wear business suits or dresses. It does not mean “at home” casual, or the way you would dress if you were working in the office on a weekend, or golf attire.
Clothing that is appropriate business casual includes slacks, khakis, sports jackets and blazers, collared long-sleeved shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, sweaters, dresses or skirts. During the summer months (May 15th to Labor Day), collared shirts with short sleeves, including golf or polo shirts, are acceptable.
En m’n baard? Mag ik met een casual ongeschoren look op kantoor verschijnen?
Hair should be clean, combed and neatly trimmed or arranged. Shaggy, unkempt hair is not permissible regardless of length. Sideburns, moustaches and beards should be neatly trimmed. Tattoos and body piercing (other than earrings) should not be visible.
En als ik me daar niet aan hou?
Any employee who does not meet the standards of this policy will be required to take corrective action, which may include leaving the premises. Non-exempt staff will not be compensated for any work time missed because of failure to comply with this policy. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action.
